Meet the Owners
For a little bit of background...
Jersey Native Roots is led by father and son duo Frank and Christian Alcaide, who share a commitment to restoring New Jersey’s ecosystems and helping homeowners play a meaningful role in that work.
Christian Alcaide is a student at Rutgers University, where he has distinguished himself in the Ecology program. He currently serves as Lead Habitat Restoration Coordinator at the Celery Farm Nature Preserve in Allendale, New Jersey, where he focuses on habitat restoration and invasive species management. Christian brings over five years of hands-on experience designing, installing, and planting ecologically focused gardens. He plans to begin his doctorate in Conservation Ecology in Fall 2027.
Frank Alcaide brings over 20 years of experience in corporate management and communications, along with a degree from Cornell University. As a longtime nature enthusiast, Frank once pursued the ideal of the perfect lawn, but came to recognize that traditional landscaping often works against the health of local ecosystems. That shift in perspective now drives his commitment to more sustainable, ecologically responsible landscapes.
Together, Frank and Christian believe that restoring biodiversity in New Jersey does not require large-scale change to begin. It can start right at home. Through Jersey Native Roots, they help homeowners transform their outdoor spaces into landscapes that support wildlife, strengthen local ecosystems, and contribute to a healthier environment.
